Bath re-enamelling near Cardiff

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Cardiff. What changes the price is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Getting a price from photos

You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Bath re-enamelling in Cardiff without replacing anything

Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. We’re often asked to fix stains that won’t shift and lots of chips and rust spots, in acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Why repair rather than replace?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Cardiff. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Everything repaired in place

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Cardiff

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Will the bath be moved?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Cardiff. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

What happens next?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Cardiff?

Often the bath has just had decades of use. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is normally as strong as ever.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes the best part of a day in most cases. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Related advice

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • A bath that is rusted through
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
