For landlords and businesses
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
About our worktop repair in Jock's Lodge
A new worktop rarely matches the old one, particularly where several lengths join. Repairing the damage keeps your kitchen as it is. Our repair technicians work on quartz, solid wood and granite & marble, and the jobs we see most are chips caused during installation and damage to a stone worktop.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

- Laminate swollen by water from underneath
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we are called out for in Jock's Lodge
The worst damage frequently happens in a moment: a hot pan set straight down, or a heavy pan catching the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.
Common reasons people in Jock's Lodge contact us include:
- Chipped corners
- Chips in quartz or granite
- Damage around the sink cut-out
- A heat mark or burn

Repair or replace: which is better?
Stone and quartz tops are templated and cut to fit, so replacing one section is a big job. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Why Jock's Lodge clients choose us

How to care for the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Don’t cut directly on the worktop
- Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
- Do not knock pans against the edge
- Dry around the sink and joints
Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.
A chip on an edge can grow, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.
Jock's Lodge: your questions answered
How much do I need to move?
Just near the damage. The rest of the kitchen stays usable.
Will the repair match a patterned worktop?
Yes, the pattern is built up by hand so it blends in.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
What happens next?
You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
Can a scorch mark be fixed?
Often, yes. The burn is cut back, filled and patterned to match.
Are there extra charges for Jock's Lodge?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, Jock's Lodge included. Travel is included in the price.
How do I book?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Can I fix it myself?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

What affects the price in Jock's Lodge
Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- What the surface is made of
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Getting a price from pictures
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- One picture of the whole worktop
- What it’s made of, if you know
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
Send us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, with your EH7 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
