Trusted worktop repair in No Man's Land

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • How many areas need work
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • One picture of the entire worktop
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Any details about the material
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Before and after: damaged granite tiles repaired in place

Do you need worktop repair in No Man's Land?

Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan set straight down, or a heavy pan catching the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

Common reasons people in No Man's Land contact us are:

  • Chips caused during installation
  • A chipped quartz edge
  • Gouges in the surface
  • A heat mark or burn

Questions to ask before booking

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How the colour is matched
  • How long it needs to cure

How to compare quotes

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so marks can frequently be sanded and refinished.

Quartz

Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished to the worktop’s finish.

Honest limits

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A cracked stone top that’s unsupported

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we work on in No Man's Land

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Do not leave spills to soak in

Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.

A chip on an edge can grow, and water can reach the core of laminate. Repairing it early stops that.

How it works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a few hours.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, templating and fitting a replacement and reconnecting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. Repairing the damage leaves the worktop in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
