Need bath re-enamelling in Adambrae?

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:

  • One picture of the whole bath
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any details about the material
  • Natural light rather than flash

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Bath re-enamelling in Adambrae, done in place

We do not move the bath, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. If you are dealing with a bath in a colour that no longer suits and stains that won’t shift, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

Why repair rather than replace?

There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing typically wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Adambrae. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • One visit for most repairs

Questions from Adambrae

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You will get a fixed quote back. There’s no obligation to book.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

How it works

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

How to get a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Advice

When a repair is not the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • A bath split right through the body
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

If you manage property in Adambrae, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Common problems we fix in Adambrae

Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • A roll-top that is seen better days

What to look for in a quote

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Who will actually do the work
