Bath re-enamelling for Aigburth homes

What we’re called out for in Aigburth

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off

What your quote should include

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What prep work is covered
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • How the room is protected while they work

How to compare quotes

Bath re-enamelling in Aigburth without replacing anything

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Whether it’s an old resurfacing that’s failing and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, we can help, on Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths alike.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Aigburth and across Liverpool.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish with the bath left where it is. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

  • No need to remove anything
  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

FAQs for Aigburth

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes, white is the usual choice. Mention the colour you want when you send pictures.

Do you come to Aigburth?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Aigburth and the rest of Liverpool. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Aigburth. The price reflects:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Any details about the material
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Send us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, with your L17 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Aigburth, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

How to get a price
