Bath re-enamelling at your home in Holy Land
We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It normally takes one visit, and can be used again the day after. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops, and people most frequently call us about an outdated colour you’d like to change and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

How to care for the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Store bottles off the bath
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, so limescale can’t build up.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
When to call us in Holy Land
In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
What your quote should include
- How changes to the job are handled
- Whether the price covers travel
- Aftercare advice
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
Repair or replace in Holy Land?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.
Why us?
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Same prices wherever you are
- No need to remove anything
- Normally one visit, start to finish

FAQs for Holy Land
Do you need to take the bath out?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.
What information do you need?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.
Are there extra charges for Holy Land?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.
Can you quote from photos?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
When we’d advise against a repair
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- Holes rusted through the metal
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
How the visit works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It usually takes a full day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.
Before we arrive
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
How to get a price
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Repairs by material
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
