Bath re-enamelling in Allington

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Allington. The price depends on:

  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Details of any past repairs

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Allington

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without a refit. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. We work on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops, and the jobs we see most are a coloured bath you want in white and staining under the taps and around the waste.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

How to care for the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath

Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • A bath that is rusted through
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Allington

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Will the new finish last?

Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed price, normally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Is there a smell?

Yes, while we’re applying the finish. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Repair or replace in Allington?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, with the bath ready the next day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

The process

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
