Bath re-enamelling in Arradoul, done in place

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Typical jobs include an old resurfacing that’s failing and wear marks under the taps, in basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for most of the day. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price

Email us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your AB56 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

When a repair is not the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Arradoul questions

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you price it without visiting?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, and that includes Arradoul. Prices do not change with location.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes. Inside and out.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

How to compare quotes

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Aftercare tips

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
