Bath re-enamelling near Bibury

About our bath re-enamelling in Bibury

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Whether it’s a bath in a colour that no longer suits and staining under the taps and around the waste, we can typically put it right, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Gloucestershire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

For anyone letting property in or around Bibury, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll price them together.

How it works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take most of the day, including clearing up.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

What affects the price in Bibury

Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Bibury. The price depends on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send pictures for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A photo taken from further back

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What we cannot put right

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • A bath that is rusted through
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Get any chip repaired quickly

Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.
