About our bath re-enamelling in Broom
Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. We work on pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops, and common reasons people contact us are wear marks under the taps and an old resurfacing that’s failing.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What we are called out for in Broom
Often the bath has just had decades of use, and only the surface is worn. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is normally as strong as ever.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- Chips and rust in more than one place

Broom: your questions answered
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Do the materials smell?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.
Are you accredited?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Do I have to be there?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Do you work in Broom?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Broom. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can you quote from photos?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

How it works
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes the best part of a day for most jobs. We leave the room clean.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.
Preparing for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Broom. What changes the price is:
- How much damage there is
- The type of damage
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- The material, if you know it
- Details of any past repairs
- Where you are, by postcode
If you’re in Broom and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Repair or replace: which is better?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
Why us?
- No extra charge for your area
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Nothing taken out or refitted

Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
When a repair is not the answer
We won’t take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A bath that is rusted through
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
