Bath re-enamelling in Carlton, done in place
We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the next day. Whether it’s wear marks under the taps and an outdated colour you’d like to change, we can normally put it right.
Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

The process
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes most of the day in most cases. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.
How to prepare
- Open a window if you can
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Keep a parking space free if you can
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Advice
What affects the price in Carlton
Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- The material
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Access to the area
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.
Quotes from your pictures
Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.
Repairs by material
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Carlton. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Aftercare tips
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
What a repair can’t fix
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- A bath that’s rusted through
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Carlton?
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and scrubbing it wears it down further. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
Customers generally contact us about:
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- An outdated colour you’d like to change

Carlton: your questions answered
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
What do you need from me?
Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide, and that includes Carlton. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
