Bath re-enamelling in Willingham Green, done in place

Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. If you are dealing with a roll-top that’s seen better days and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, we can help, whatever the material.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A bath that is rusted through
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet. We protect the area first, then the work takes most of the day. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

Willingham Green questions

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do you cover the entire of Cambridgeshire?

All of Cambridgeshire, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do you work in Willingham Green?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Willingham Green. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Repair or replace: which is better?

For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
