About our bath re-enamelling in Chineham
We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Our technicians work on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are an old resurfacing that’s failing and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Repairing versus replacing in Chineham
There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Keeping it looking good
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
- Store bottles off the bath
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
Dry the bath after use if possible, particularly with hard water, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
When a repair is not the answer
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- A metal bath with a through crack
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How many items we do on one visit
- The colour and finish to match
- How many areas need work
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Send photos for a quote
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:
- A photo taken from further back
- The material, if you know it
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Natural light rather than flash
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
How the visit works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes most of the day. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.
