Bath re-enamelling near Conham

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Conham

When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, re-enamelling is generally the most cost-effective option. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. We regularly repair cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and people most frequently call us about stains that won’t shift and a coloured bath you want in white.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

Conham questions

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send photos.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Conham?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your BS4 postcode.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We come back with a fixed price, usually with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

How it works

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know about parking or access

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Conham use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the entire surface without moving it. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Avoid suction-cup mats

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Conham. The price comes down to:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material and finish
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

When to call us in Conham

Enamel does not fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use dull the surface, typically first under the taps and around the waste.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

Questions to ask before you book

  • How to look after the finish
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How changes to the job are handled
