Bath re-enamelling for Coppa View homes

About our bath re-enamelling in Coppa View

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we don’t cut corners on it. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and the jobs we see most are a coloured bath you want in white and worn patches where water runs and sits.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

What a repair can’t fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Coppa View. The price reflects:

  • The type of damage
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Doing more than one item at once

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Coppa View. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Get any chip repaired quickly

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

What we do, step by step

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take the best part of a day, including clearing up.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice

Common questions in Coppa View

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

How long is the bath unusable?

Most baths are done in a day, ready the next day. We give you timings with the quote.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Will the bath be moved?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Coppa View as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
