Bath re-enamelling for Dallinghoo homes

Questions from Dallinghoo

Will the bath be moved?

No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Normally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

How quickly can you book me in?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Will there be fumes?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Bath re-enamelling in Dallinghoo without replacing anything

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, and we take our time over it. Common call-outs are for chips and rust in more than one place and stains that won’t shift, in pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

For a price in Dallinghoo, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

For landlords and businesses

If you manage property in Dallinghoo, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Honest limits

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Repair dripping taps early

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Dallinghoo?

Enamel doesn’t fail overnight. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, starting where water runs and sits.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • Wear marks under the taps
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • A coating lifting around the plughole

Our hiring checklist

Should you replace it?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why Dallinghoo customers choose us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It normally takes most of the day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
