Bath re-enamelling in Fishguard and Goodwick without replacing anything
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays, and people most frequently call us about a roll-top that’s seen better days and a coating lifting around the plughole.
All our work comes with our one-year guarantee.

What we can’t put right
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
How it works
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
How to prepare
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Have a window or extractor fan available
How to get a price
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job without visiting.
Advice
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- How many items we do on one visit
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How hard the colour is to match
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from pictures
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:
- Something in shot to show the size
- One picture of the whole bath
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will say immediately whether it can be repaired.
What we are called out for in Fishguard and Goodwick
Hard water speeds up the wear, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.
Contact us if you’ve noticed:
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
What your quote should include
- How changes to the job are handled
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- How long it needs to cure
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
Can I fix it myself?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Repair or replace in Fishguard and Goodwick?
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and normally a day, and the bath is usable the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.
