About our bath re-enamelling in Hale End

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Common call-outs are for a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and lots of chips and rust spots, across pressed steel baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas

Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a full day. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Getting ready for the visit

Advice

When to call us in Hale End

Hard water speeds up the wear, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.

Contact us if you’ve noticed:

  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste

What your quote should include

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Aftercare advice
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What preparation is included

Choosing a repair company

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Hale End. What changes the price is:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many areas need work
  • Doing more than one item at once

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Hale End. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. Try to include:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
