What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Bath re-enamelling in Hinton, done in place

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. If you’re dealing with chips and rust in more than one place and an old resurfacing that’s failing, we can typically put it right, on acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Details of any past repairs

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Hinton questions

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Hinton?

Prices start from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Hinton.

Can tenants book a repair?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is generally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. It normally takes a full day, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Hinton?

Enamel wears gradually. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, starting where water runs and sits.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
