When we’d advise against a repair
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- A bath split right through the body
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Materials we work on in Hoscar

- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Hoscar
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
The things clients generally mention when they call include:
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- Stains that won’t shift
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

How it works
We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow the best part of a day.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the following day.
How to prepare
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
Ask for a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Repair dripping taps early
Dry the bath after use if possible, and rinse off any bath products.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the whole surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- What the surface is made of
- Unusual colours or finishes
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.
Getting a price from pictures
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:
- The material, if you know it
- Where you are, by postcode
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Hoscar
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Hoscar use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
