Bath re-enamelling in Kilmahog, done in place
If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. We are often asked to fix an outdated colour you’d like to change and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, in basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Kilmahog and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Kilmahog?
Enamel doesn’t fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use dull the surface, starting where water runs and sits.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- Staining under the taps and around the waste
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
Before booking anyone

- If travel is included in the price

Keeping it looking good
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
The process
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow the best part of a day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Ensure the area is dry
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice
Repairing versus replacing in Kilmahog
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Why us?
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- We leave the room as we found it
- Colour mixed on the day to match

What affects the price in Kilmahog
Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- How many items we do on one visit
- The colour and finish to match
- What kind of damage it is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed quote
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- Natural light rather than flash
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
