How we handle bath re-enamelling in Nannerch
Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We’re frequently asked to fix stains that won’t shift and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, on pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

What we do, step by step
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes most of the day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Have a window or extractor fan available

Advice
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. We price every job individually. The main factors are:
- How hard the colour is to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.
Getting a price from pictures
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Where you are, by postcode
- Something in shot to show the size
For a price in Nannerch, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Questions from Nannerch

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Can you price it without visiting?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Honest limits
A repair is not right for every job, including:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
Keeping it looking good
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.

Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
