The process
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take most of the day, including clearing up.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Keep a parking space free if you can
How to get a price

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Newton
The bath stays where it is, so the taps, tiles and plumbing aren’t touched. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the next day. Common call-outs are for a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and stains that won’t shift, in Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Newton as everywhere else we work.

What a repair can’t fix
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- A metal bath with a through crack
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What else we do in Newton
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- Access to the area
- How many items we do on one visit
- How hard the colour is to match
- How much damage there is
We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Newton. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send photos for a quote
Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- One picture of the whole bath
- Natural light rather than flash
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
What we’re called out for in Newton
By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Wear marks under the taps
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating

Common questions in Newton
Will the bath be moved?
No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Normally, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Mention it when you send photos.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Newton?
Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your SA3 postcode.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the entire surface with the bath left where it is. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
What you get with us
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- We leave the room as we found it
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
Read our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.
How to look after the repair
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Respect the curing time we give you
Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
