Bath re-enamelling in Oare

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Oare

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without a refit. It’s the answer when the whole bath is tired rather than one spot. We are frequently asked to fix lots of chips and rust spots and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, on acrylic baths, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Oare and across Kent.

FAQs for Oare

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It clears as the materials cure.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Do you cover the entire of Kent?

We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Why repair rather than replace?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why book with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • We leave the room as we found it

Honest limits

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Holes rusted through the metal

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

When to call us in Oare

The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste

What to look for in a quote

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • When it can be used again
  • How to care for the finish

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

How it works

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a price
