Bath re-enamelling in Old Rhosrobin without replacing anything
Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. If you are dealing with a peeling or bubbling previous coating and several chips and rust patches, we can usually put it right, on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and acrylic baths alike.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

When we would advise against a repair
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, usually one day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Keeping it looking good
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, particularly with hard water, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.
What happens on the day
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a full day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Preparing for the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Clear the area around the damage

Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Work for landlords and builders
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Wrexham and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Old Rhosrobin: your questions answered
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Old Rhosrobin?
Resurfacing from £350. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
How long does re-enamelling last?
It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.
Will there be fumes?
A little, during the work. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
What areas do you cover?
We cover the whole UK, including Old Rhosrobin and the rest of Wrexham. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Typically a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Old Rhosrobin. The price depends on:
- How many items we do on one visit
- How many areas need work
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The material and finish
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Old Rhosrobin. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:
- Details of any past repairs
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Any details about the material
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
To get a price, send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We will say straight away whether it can be repaired.
Common problems we fix in Old Rhosrobin
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and scrubbing it wears it down further. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Staining under the taps and around the waste
