Bath re-enamelling in Stansty

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

About our bath re-enamelling in Stansty

Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Whether it’s staining under the taps and around the waste and an outdated colour you’d like to change, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Stansty

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes. We can do the inside and outside.

Do you come to Stansty?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Stansty and the rest of Wrexham. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

How long is the bath unusable?

Normally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

How quickly can you book me in?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Landlord and trade work in Stansty

For anyone letting property in or around Stansty, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we’re there, the work takes the best part of a day for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear the area around the damage

Advice

Common problems we fix in Stansty

Enamel doesn’t fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, usually first under the taps and around the waste.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Stains that won’t shift
  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

What your quote should include

  • What preparation is included
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

Choosing a repair company

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths

Repair or replace: which is better?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why book with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
