Bath re-enamelling in Partney

Bath re-enamelling in Partney, done in place

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Typical jobs include lots of chips and rust spots and a peeling or bubbling previous coating, in pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Are there extra charges for Partney?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

How quickly can you book me in?

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

When to call us in Partney

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
  • Chips and rust in more than one place

How to look after the repair

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Avoid suction-cup mats

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

What affects the price in Partney

Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Partney. The price depends on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • What the surface is made of
  • Access to the area

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send pictures for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Should you replace it?

Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
