Bath re-enamelling at your home in Pont-newydd
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We’re often asked to fix a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, across acrylic baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

What a repair cannot fix
A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A bath that is rusted through
- Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we do, step by step
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which usually takes a full day. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Preparing for the visit
- Open a window if you can
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
Ask for a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Related advice
Why repair rather than replace?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book.

How to look after the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Repair dripping taps early
- Avoid suction-cup mats
Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Repair dripping taps promptly.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
What else we do in Pont-newydd
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Pont-newydd?
Enamel wears gradually. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use dull the surface, typically first under the taps and around the waste.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Stains that will not shift
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
