How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, and rinse off any bath products.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

About our bath re-enamelling in Sough

We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It normally takes one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Common call-outs are for stains that won’t shift and worn patches where water runs and sits, in Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Lancashire.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Common questions in Sough

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Lancashire.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Some odour is normal while we spray, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Do you cover the whole of Lancashire?

We cover the entire UK, including Sough and the rest of Lancashire. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes. We can do the inside and outside if you’d like.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the work takes a full day. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Clear the area around the damage

How to get a price

Related advice

Should you replace it?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the whole surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Everything repaired in place
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

See our full price list or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There’s no charge for travel to Sough. The price comes down to:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Access to the area

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Sough. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

What we cannot put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Steel that has corroded right through

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Sough

  • Cast iron baths

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Sough?

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

Contact us if you’ve noticed:

  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • Stains that won’t shift

What to look for in a quote

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How long it needs to cure
