Trusted bath re-enamelling in Standen

Bath re-enamelling in Standen without replacing anything

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we do not cut corners on it. If you are dealing with a roll-top that’s seen better days and several chips and rust patches, we can help.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Standen as everywhere else we work.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.

Repair or replace in Standen?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Fixed prices from your pictures

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes most of the day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Standen

Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.

The things customers typically mention when they call include:

  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits

Questions to ask before booking

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • How the room is protected while they work

Choosing a repair company

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • A bath split right through the body
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send photos for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
