Bath re-enamelling in Sychdyn, done in place
Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. Common call-outs are for a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and a coloured bath you want in white, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
How to look after the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
What we do, step by step
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes most of the day, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Open a window if you can
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

What else we do in Sychdyn
Should you replace it?
Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Why book with us

When we’d advise against a repair
We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
What we work on
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- How many areas need work
- The material and finish
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether we combine several jobs
We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Send pictures for a quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- Details of any past repairs
- Natural light rather than flash
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A photo taken from further back
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
Questions from Sychdyn
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes, often. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
Do you cover the whole of Flintshire?
We work UK-wide, so Sychdyn is covered. Prices do not change with location.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
Is there a smell?
Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Typically a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Do you work in Sychdyn?
Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Sychdyn from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
