Bath re-enamelling in Treboeth without replacing anything
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the next day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We work on pressed steel baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops, and common reasons people contact us are a bath in a colour that no longer suits and wear marks under the taps.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What happens on the day
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes most of the day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice
When to call us in Treboeth
Previous coatings can fail too, lifting by the plughole or blistering. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- An old resurfacing that is failing
Before you book anyone
- How your room will be protected
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Store bottles off the bath
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Why repair rather than replace?
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
What we cannot put right
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths

Questions from Treboeth
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Generally, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Can you make a coloured bath white?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.
Will the new finish last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Is my repair covered?
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
