How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • The material, if you know it

If you’re in Mynydd-Bach and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Bath re-enamelling in Mynydd-Bach without replacing anything

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. Whether it’s a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured

Dry the bath after use if possible, particularly with hard water, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

What we’re called out for in Mynydd-Bach

By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • Stains that will not shift

10 questions to ask before booking

Should you replace it?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Mynydd-Bach. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Steel that has corroded right through

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes a full day, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Mynydd-Bach questions

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
