Bath re-enamelling for Trematon homes

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

About our bath re-enamelling in Trematon

Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, with the bath ready to use the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We’re often asked to fix a peeling or bubbling previous coating and stains that won’t shift, across Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Trematon

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Questions from Trematon

Will there be fumes?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It fades as the coating cures.

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Do you work in Trematon?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Trematon from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Should you replace it?

There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the whole room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing normally wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book.

How it works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take the best part of a day, tidy-up included.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Have chips seen to early
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

When to call us in Trematon

Enamel wears gradually. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use dull the surface, starting where water runs and sits.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean

Before booking anyone

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What prep work is covered
  • What aftercare is recommended

Our hiring checklist

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Trematon. The price depends on:

  • The material
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Details of any past repairs

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
