Bath re-enamelling in Victoria without replacing anything
Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. We work on acrylic baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays, and common reasons people contact us are an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean.
All our work comes with our one-year guarantee.

Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the entire surface without moving it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Victoria
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Victoria?
Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.
Can tenants book a repair?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Usually a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
Will the new finish last?
Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Landlord and trade work in Victoria
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Cornwall and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Victoria
The gloss on enamel is thin, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough

Advice
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:
- The material and finish
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How much damage there is
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Any details about the material
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Respect the curing time we give you
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Get any chip repaired quickly
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
