Bath re-enamelling in Weethley Bank

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Weethley Bank

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. If you are dealing with a bath in a colour that no longer suits and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, we can help, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and normally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Most jobs done in one visit

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Repair dripping taps promptly.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What affects the price in Weethley Bank

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Weethley Bank. What changes the price is:

  • The material and finish
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What kind of damage it is

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from photos

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your B49 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

For landlords and businesses

If you manage property in Weethley Bank, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

The process

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to most of the day, including clearing up.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

When we would advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that is rusted through
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
