Bath re-enamelling in Witheridge without replacing anything
Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Typical jobs include a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and a coating lifting around the plughole, in acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Repairing versus replacing in Witheridge
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Questions from Witheridge
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Are you accredited?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Which areas do you work in?
We cover the whole UK, including Witheridge and the rest of Devon. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.
What do you need from me?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

The process
We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes most of the day, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- The bath is left to cure and can normally be used the following day.
How to prepare
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
How to get a price
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Witheridge?
Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- Staining under the taps and around the waste
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
- Wear marks under the taps
Questions to ask before you book
- Who will actually do the work
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- Whether they match the colour on site
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Honest limits
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
Keeping it looking good
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.
