Bath repair near Barlow

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

How we handle bath repair in Barlow

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can normally bathe again the next day. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. We’re often asked to fix a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, across whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and acrylic.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to two to three hours for most chips, tidy-up included.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, generally by the day after, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Barlow. The price reflects:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Send pictures for a quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job without visiting.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

There is nothing special to do after a repair. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

Repair or replace in Barlow?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one generally means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair deals only with the damage in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Barlow

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Questions from Barlow

Do you cover Barlow?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Barlow from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

What happens after I send pictures?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, very often. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
