Bath repair for Blairingone homes

Bath repair at your home in Blairingone

A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and people most frequently call us about rust by the waste and overflow and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Blairingone as everywhere else we work.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a fitted bath normally means a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it deals only with the damage in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why us?

  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • One price list for the whole UK

Read our pricing or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Getting a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

If you manage property in Blairingone, we will quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Blairingone. The price reflects:

  • How much damage there is
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from pictures

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

When a repair is not the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

FAQs for Blairingone

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes, we do this frequently. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Do you cover the whole of Clackmannanshire?

We cover the whole UK, including Blairingone and the rest of Clackmannanshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Normally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
