Bath repair in Brentry, done in place
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the next day. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and scuffs and scratches in the surface.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

What we can’t put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Repairs by material
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Repairing versus replacing in Brentry
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in a single visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
What you get with us
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Colour-matched on site
- Work done at your home or business
- Nothing taken out or refitted
See our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.
The process
Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
How to prepare
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

DIY repairs versus a professional job
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.
Brentry questions
How do I book?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.
Can you repair several things at once?
Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.
Will the price change on the day?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
Will the repair show?
On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
Is the work guaranteed?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
