Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Holes from dropped items
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Chips under the taps
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting

Landlord and trade work in Bristol

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Bristol and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. On site, it takes a few hours, depending on the damage for most jobs. We leave the room clean.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Most clients in Bristol get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one generally means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.

Bristol: your questions answered

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Typically, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
