Bath repair in Chapel without replacing anything

Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. If you’re dealing with rust spots around the plughole and a chipped rim or side, we can help.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Honest limits

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Your questions about bath repair in Chapel

What happens after I send pictures?

You’ll get a fixed quote back. You are under no obligation.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally the day after. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

What we are called out for in Chapel

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • A chipped rim or side

Our hiring checklist

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Chapel, we will quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Get a quote

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

Repairing versus replacing in Chapel

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
