FAQs for Dale

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Normally, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

How much does bath repair cost in Dale?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your SA62 postcode.

Do you cover Dale?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Dale. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will the repair last?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes two to three hours for most chips for most jobs. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • The type of damage
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Dale. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Why repair rather than replace?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Prices start from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Why us?

  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
