Bath repair in Darliston

Repair or replace: which is better?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

What you get with us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Bath repair at your home in Darliston

Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Whether it’s chips under the taps and a cracked acrylic bath, we can normally put it right, on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Landlord and trade work in Darliston

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

When we’d advise against a repair

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

Darliston questions

Do you come to Darliston?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Darliston. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

What information do you need?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in Darliston.

How the visit works

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
