What affects the price in Gellifor

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Gellifor. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

About our bath repair in Gellifor

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site. We’re often asked to fix hairline or through cracks in acrylic and rust by the waste and overflow, across whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

For anyone letting property in or around Gellifor, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll price them together.

When to call us in Gellifor

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Chips caused by builders

How to compare quotes

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

What happens on the day

We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes a few hours in most cases. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Why repair rather than replace?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

See our pricing and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Have new chips seen to early

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Gellifor questions

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Is a bath repair durable?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
