Bath repair for Grayshott homes

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Bath repair in Grayshott without replacing anything

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Typical jobs include holes from dropped items and cracks in an acrylic bath, in cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Surrey.

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

If you manage property in Grayshott, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How much damage there is
  • The material
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Do you need bath repair in Grayshott?

A cracked acrylic bath typically wasn’t supported properly. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the bath move until the acrylic gives way.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • A chip where the taps sit

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included

Our hiring checklist

When a repair is not the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Grayshott questions

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Will the repair last?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, so Grayshott is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Do you work in Grayshott?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Grayshott and the rest of Surrey. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one generally means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
