Bath repair in Greenfields without replacing anything

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. If you are dealing with scuffs and scratches in the surface and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, we can help, on acrylic, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel alike.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Greenfields and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Greenfields. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

To get a price, send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

Common problems we fix in Greenfields

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the base flex.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips under the taps
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Chips caused by builders

What your quote should include

  • If travel is included in the price
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Who will actually do the work
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Greenfields as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Greenfields questions

How do I book?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Do you cover the entire of Wrexham?

Everywhere in the UK, Greenfields included. Travel is included in the price.

How much does bath repair cost in Greenfields?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How it works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
