Trusted bath repair in Hoo

Bath repair in Hoo without replacing anything

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can usually use the bath the following day. We are frequently asked to fix an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and chips on the rim or sides, in pressed steel enamel, acrylic and cast iron enamel.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Hoo and across Kent.

Questions from Hoo

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally within a day, though it depends on what we have done.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Kent. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Keeping it looking good

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Hoo use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

How it works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a morning or an afternoon. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Ask for a price

Advice

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A steel bath rusted through

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Our bath repair starts from £95. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What we’re called out for in Hoo

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Holes from dropped items

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Whether they match the colour on site
