Bath repair in Hundred Acres without replacing anything

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Whether it’s a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and chips on the rim or sides, we can help, on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel alike.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours. We leave the room clean.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Ask for a price

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Hundred Acres. The price reflects:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

You can typically get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Any details about the material
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Natural light rather than flash

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

What we cannot put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

When to call us in Hundred Acres

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Rusty patches near the plughole

What your quote should include

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • How your room will be protected
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How to care for the finish

Choosing a repair company

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Hundred Acres use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
