Bath repair for Inverarity homes

Do you need bath repair in Inverarity?

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Most people contact us after spotting something like this:

  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail

Choosing a repair company

How we handle bath repair in Inverarity

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Our repair technicians work on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most frequently call us about holes from dropped items and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.

Why repair rather than replace?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.

How the visit works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, tidy-up included.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Inverarity. The price reflects:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Doing more than one item at once

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone pictures are fine. Ensure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

If you’re in Inverarity and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Questions from Inverarity

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, and that includes Inverarity. Prices don’t change with location.

Can you redo an old repair?

Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Is a bath repair durable?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, very often. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
